
Ashton's Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans, Louisiana
Situated between the French Quarter and
Inside, the mansion is truly antebellum is style, with high 15-foot ceilings, period furnishings, beautiful chandeliers, carved marble mantels, and rooms with plenty of space for guests to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There are two sets of guestrooms from which to choose – those located in the main mansion or those in the patio wing. There are four rooms in the main domicile. They include: Jackson Square, a small room with a king-sized four-posted “rice” bed, a sitting area, and a claw-foot tub and toilet, cordoned off by a curtain, reminiscent of the era in which the home was built; Garden District, an attractive pale-blue room with a queen-sized bed, two upholstered chairs, and a tub and shower; Mardi Gras, a bright and modern room with a king bed, twin sofa bed, and shower with handheld and “rain” showerheads; and Jazz Festival, with a magnificent king-sized “Half-Tester” bed, sofa bed, and a luxury tiled shower with rain showerhead and six body jets.
In the patio wing, guests can choose from four
additional rooms. The Cajun Kitchen features an old masonry cooking heart as
well as a wrought iron queen bed, sitting area, and tub-shower combination.
It sits on the ground floor. The French Quarter overlooks the patio and also
has a queen bed and tub-shower combo.
Amenities at Ashton’s Bed and Breakfast include a full gourmet New Orleans-style breakfast served each and every morning, with entrees like sweet potato French toast, eggs benedict, and Bananas Foster waffles, all accompanied by famous New Orleans chicory coffee.
There are also upscale bath and body products in each room, individual AC and heat thermostats for every room, voice mail, free wireless internet, ceiling fans, cable television, and much more. Free off-street parking is available, if needed, though the owners suggest that guests park their cars and leave them, walking or using public transportation for sightseeing within the city limits. Cabs are readily available for trips to and from the B&B.
