Information on the Cajun Queen
The Cajun Queen is a riverboat that docks outside the Aquarium of the Americas and offers day tours of the Mississippi River. There is a little ticket booth where you can buy tickets to it out there. The boat leaves on the tours at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM daily, and tickets are $16 for an adult, $11 for children. The boat is a replica of a 19th century passenger vessel, and the captain will be your tour guide, telling you all about the sights along the riverside. The boat itself can house up to 500 passengers, and they often charter it for special events. Its sister ship is the Creole Queen, which docks outside the New Orleans Riverwalk, and offers pretty much the same cruises.
They also have a dinner Jazz Cruise, which is more expensive and lasts for 3 hours. It's an evening of dinner and Jazz music - $56 for adults with dinner, $30 without it. This is a perfect romantic evening, as they've got dance floors, and a nice railing you can lean on and watch the stars and moon.

You will probably want to make reservations beforehand. You can call them at 504-524-0814 to reserve tickets, and you should get there half an hour before the cruise. You can visit their website here for more information and detailed specifications of the ships.
