Drury Inn and Suites in New Orleans, Louisiana

Situated just 4 blocks from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street and within a short walk of many other New Orleans attractions, the Drury Inn and Suites New Orleans is a mid-rise hotel that offers guests all the convenience of a downtown stay. Also convenient to the street car line, this moderately priced hotel is a logical option for both casual and business travelers and offers comfortable accommodations and a host of amenities for singles, couples, and families.

The Drury Inn and Suites includes 156 attractively-appointed rooms, many of them providing a good view of the city. Most rooms are standard size with one king or two queen beds, but there are also several 2-room suites available. These offer a separate living area with a pull-out sofa. The rooms are decorated in warm tones with lots of wood and pretty floral bed linens. In each room, guests will find both a microwave and a refrigerator. Also included in each guest room are flat panel LCD televisions with HBO and other premium channels, in-room coffee service, hair dryers, and irons and ironing boards.

Because Drury’s motto is “The Extras aren’t Extra”, the hotel does indeed offer a lot of items for which one might normally pay at another hotel. These include the free hot “Quick Start” breakfast; free fountain sodas and fresh popcorn available in the lobby; a 5:30 pm “Kickback” offering that includes hot finger foods as well as beer, wine and mixed drinks; free local calls and 60 minutes of long distance calling; and complimentary wireless internet in all rooms and in the lobby as well.

Other guest amenities include a 24-hour business center with access to computers, printers, and fax service. Guests also have access to a small exercise room, a laundry facility, and same-day dry cleaning services. For those who wish to enjoy a little rest and relaxation, there is a rooftop pool and whirlpool on the premises, open as long as the weather permits.

There are also a few meeting rooms located on the premises, suitable for business events or small social gatherings. A meeting planner is on staff to help organize the details of any event to be held at Drury Inn and Suites New Orleans. Discounted room rates are available to companies or individuals who book 10 or more rooms for a local or in-house event.

There is not a restaurant on the premises but, as previously mentioned, the hotel does offer free breakfast and light dinner and drinks. However, there are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and many more are just a short drive or street car ride from the hotel’s front door.

Parking is available on-site at the Drury Inn and Suites New Orleans but there is a nightly parking fee.
