Le Pavillon in New Orleans, Louisiana
A beautiful lodging establishment both inside and out,
Le Pavillon Hotel was built in 1907 and is a member of Historic Hotels of
America and also retains membership in Leading Hotels of the World.
Designated a AAA Four-Diamond award winner, it has received numerous
accolades from travel organizations and publications and has appeared on
Conde Nast Traveler’s coveted Gold List.
Originally known as the Hotel Dechenaud, Le Pavillon
was the first hotel in New Orleans
to boast hydraulic elevators and the first to have a basement. It was also
one of the few that included new-fangled electric lighting. When it was
restored and renamed in 1970, architects retained the beauty of the Gilded
Age and turn-of-the-century style of the hotel while adding necessary modern
touches and amenities. The result is one of the most luxurious lodging
establishments in New Orleans
and it now sits on the National Register of Historic Places.
The lobby at Le Pavillon is truly elegant, featuring
crystal chandeliers from the former
Czechoslovakia
and countless antiques. The guest rooms are lovely as well. Both standard
and deluxe rooms include handmade draperies, mahogany armoires, large
televisions, high-back chairs and a small table, plush linens, terry robes,
and a marble bathroom with upscale toiletries and hair dryer. Deluxe rooms
also include hand-painted ceiling vignettes, crown molding, and ceiling
fans. Junior suites feature a king-sized bed and a seating area and many
include a refrigerator and wet bar. The Mallard Junior Suite features a
Jacuzzi tub and elegant four-poster bed. The seven designer suites all boast
a different theme and include Oriental, Art Deco, Contemporary, Victorian,
and European
Palace suites. They offer separate
seating and dining areas and one or more bedrooms and baths.
Onsite amenities at Le Pavillon Hotel include a
year-round heated pool and hot tub, surrounded by a huge pool deck with
private cabanas. Food service is available around the pool as well and the
rooftop location offers a great view of the city. In addition, there’s a
rooftop fitness center that features a variety of exercise equipment
including weights and cardio machines.
Dining at Le Pavillon Hotel includes the
Crystal
Room, which simply exudes luxury but
is suitable for the casual diner as well. Here, guests can enjoy signature
Southern dishes and traditional Louisiana
cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For a drink after a long day spent
exploring, Le Gallery offers a full menu of cocktails, beer, and wine, all
served in a historic setting.
Since 1988, Le Pavillon has been offering a unique late
night snack to its registered guests. Each evening at
10 pm, the lobby fills with visitors who gather there to enjoy
cold glasses of milk and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It’s a
tradition that was prompted by a business guest who missed the evening snack
he shared with his daughter when he was home.
Le Pavillon offers several meeting and banquet rooms
for business or social events including weddings. The largest space can
accommodate 150 guests for dinner. All offer AV equipment, internet access,
integrated conferencing, and much more. Weddings are held in one of the
hotel’s beautiful ballrooms and a variety of packages are available for
couples who want to hold their event at Le Pavillon Hotel.
