Pandora's Snowballs and Soft Serve Ice Cream in New Orleans
Pandora's is a snowball store that I believe was closed down for awhile after Katrina. The area got 2-3 feet of water and several of the nearby businesses had only recently reopened as of July 2006. Pandora's is definitely back up and running, however, because I went by there the other day. It's a combination snowball and ice cream place, and while I've been assured it's not the best in New Orleans, it is one of the well-known ones that is at the top of most people's lists of favorites. It is located in Mid City near the New Orleans Museum of Art, which makes it a good spot for anyone going to Jazzfest to try out a snowball. It's about $1.50 to $2.00 depending on the size, but personally medium was too big for me, even on a pretty hot day. They don't skimp on the syrup, either, so it's pretty rich tasting.

The Pandora's sign.
People waiting with a big plastic number to tell you when to go up there.
A list of all the snowball flavors, along with random toppings you can get on them. Nuts?
I got raspberry. Way too big though, and I am hardly some kind of diet freak. I'd go with a small if you're uninitiated.
