Vacation Rentals in New Orleans, Louisiana

If you’re heading to New Orleans on vacation – whether you’re a single, a couple, or traveling with a whole family – there are a lot of options available when it comes to lodging. While many people opt for hotels or B&Bs in various parts of the city, many travelers prefer to lease a vacation rental.

There are numerous advantages to renting a vacation home in New Orleans…or anywhere, for that fact. Generally, if you’re renting for a week or more, you can often secure a better price than what you would get at a hotel or resort. Many vacation home owners offer great deals to renters for extended stays as well, especially in the off season when tourism is down.

If the idea of a good deal is enticing, with a short search via the internet or through a local real estate agent, you’re sure to find a vacation rental in New Orleans that will fit your needs. There are a variety of offerings, ranging from condos to single homes. As a matter of fact, in this locale, single home vacation rentals are more popular than in some other vacation destinations. You may stumble upon a historic home for rent in the French Quarter or Garden District or something a little more contemporary in the uptown area or in another of New Orleans’ attractive neighborhoods. Many are furnished with antiques and provide a good picture of what life was like in long-ago New Orleans. Others are more basic but still clean and comfortable. Aside from single family homes, you’ll also find townhomes, condominiums, and apartments available for vacation renters, many of them offering a host of amenities.

One of the major reasons travelers choose vacation rentals over hotels or B&Bs is the presence of a kitchenette or full kitchen on the premises. A kitchen allows vacationers to avoid eating all their meals in a restaurant, which can put a severe strain on the vacation budget. With a kitchen on site, renters can stock a few food items for a quick breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, or some snacks for hungry times between sightseeing. Most vacation rentals have a refrigerator, microwave, stove and/or oven, and some include a dishwasher as well. Usually, they are stocked with basic cookware – like pots and pans – as well as tableware, including plates, cups, and silverware.

The availability of multiple bedrooms is another advantage of leasing a vacation rental in New Orleans. This provides a touch of privacy that a hotel room doesn’t offer, especially if you’re traveling with children. In many cases, there are multiple bathrooms as well.

Some rental condos are situated in communities that have all the amenities you would find at a hotel and resort, including a pool, hot tub, and tennis courts. In some cases, you’ll also find a clubhouse or game room on the property. Daily maid service can usually be arranged for an additional fee if desired.
